Continuing the National NAACP theme, “Steadfast and Immovable,” Jackson City NAACP is furthering the work of the Mississippi NAACP on the local level by focusing on education, civic engagement, health, criminal justice, and economic opportunity. Funds raised at the 2018 banquet go toward fulfilling the vision and mission of that work for the betterment of the greater Jackson community.

“We are thrilled to have civil rights leader Dr. Charles Steele as our featured speaker,” said Wayne McDaniels, Jackson City NAACP Branch President. “As we enter in primary season this summer followed by mid-terms in November, we look forward to receiving a call to action from Dr. Steele and honoring our 2018 Mother as well as our special award recipients. We remain steadfast and immovable in creating a better future for the next generation.”

The semi-formal event will also include performances by the Montage Theatre of Dance, NAACP ACT-SO winners, and Jazz Saxophonist Thomas ‘Tiger’ Rogers. Tickets are $50 and a table of 10 is $500. Sponsorships and ads are available through April 20, 2018. For more information, please contact President McDaniels at 601.331.0274.
